Beauty for ashes

It is truly encouraging to hear the words that the Lord will give us beauty for ashes, what an exchange! The book of Isaiah 61:3 says: "...and provide for those who grieve in Zion— to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor." There comes a time in our lives where God declares, enough is enough. The harsh season that we've endured to come to an end. This bible verse indicates that we may have ashes that have accumulated in our lives as we go through the fiery furnace of life that we might think that our lives are over, and God comes in and exchange our ashes for something beautiful, exchange our mourning for joy, and give us praise instead of despair. This happens when we've tried everything we can in our power and we feel we are  at our lowest, then He steps into our situations and turn everything around.

What's awesome is that like the 3 three teenagers who we thrown into the fiery furnace, in the book of Daniel 3, what was amazing is that the Lord was with them the whole time (the fourth person in the furnace) and when they were released, they came out unharmed, not smelling of fire either.

It is true for us too that we might be in a situation that under normal circumstances, it can easily bring us down and destroy us, but the presence of God makes all the difference and ensures that we are unharmed. Therefore, let us continue calling on Him and wait for Him to give us beauty for ashes.
