Coming in agreement with who God says we are

The story of Gideon in the bible reminds us of a few things that are lessons we need to take note of. Judges 6:11-16 reads:

The angel of the Lord came and sat down under the oak in Ophrah that belonged to Joash the Abiezrite, where his son Gideon was threshing wheat in a winepress to keep it from the Midianites. When the angel of the Lord appeared to Gideon, he said, “The Lord is with you, mighty warrior.” “Pardon me, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “but if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where are all His wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, ‘Did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?’ But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Midian.” The Lord turned to him and said, “Go in the strength you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?” “Pardon me, my Lord,” Gideon replied, “but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family.” The Lord answered, “I will be with you, and you will strike down all the Midianites, leaving none alive.”

Israelites were being defeated at this time and they had lost all hope, until the angel of the Lord came and made some revelations to Gideon. The way the angel called Gideon, as a mighty warrior, showed how God saw Gideon, not as he saw himself as helpless.  The Lord declared Gideon mighty, and able to conquer for the sake of the Israel nation. Rightfully so, Gideon asked relevant questions to the angel, about what God has done in the past for their ancestors versus the struggle they were going through. In this passage, God shows Gideon He trusts Him, He has chosen Him for the assignment. This is a reality that we could be missing.

It is time that we come in agreement with who God says we are and come out of agreement with what the enemy keeps telling us, that we are nothing, weak and will amount to nothing. It is high time we allow what God put in us to manifest in the physical by coming into agreement with what He says. For the bible in 1 John 4:4 tells us that greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. We have greatness within and thus we can overcome and achieve everything.
