God is our rescuer

The story of the Israelites being delivered from Egypt, is one of the greatest bible stories. The bible tells us in the book of Exodus 13:17-18 that when the Lord rescued the children of Israel from Egypt, there was a shorter route that God could have directed them, but He took them in a roundabout way through the desert toward the Red Sea, as the Lord was preparing them for the battle. This is the exact spot where Egyptians drowned as they were chasing after the Israelites.

In Exodus 14,  we see God making the king of Egypt stubborn, who then changed his mind and insisted that the Israelites be followed and brought back to slavery. He took his very best army and they chased after the Israelites and managed to catch-up with them. The Israelites were terrified and cried out to Moses, who told them not to be afraid, but to stand their ground and see the salvation of the Lord. God instructed Moses to hold out his hand over the sea, which he did  and it parted the sea, so the Israelites could pass. However, when the Egyptians followed, the sea closed and they all drowned in the sea. This was such a big miracle that God showed the Israelites, proving that He is mighty and that He is for them.

In the same way that God proved Himself to the Israelites that He is for them, He is with them, the same applies to us that God wants to show off in our lives as well. That He wants to come through for us and conquer the enemy for us. May we recognize that we serve a powerful, loving and gracious God, who is ready to defeat, rescue and prosper us. let us stay ready and continue giving Him praise and allow Him to get the glory in our lives that He so deserve. Amen!
