Yoking with the Lord

God wants to achieve more, through us. When God created man on earth, in the garden of Eden, we are told that God gave man dominion over everything, animals, the earth. This is in Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground." By this, God was giving us the responsibility to take care of everything, look after and nurture His creatures. One might ask, what is my role in this? We understand that when God created each human being, He had a specific call or purpose for each one. These purposes differ from one person to the other. Some purposes have an impact on many people at a time, whilst others are focused on impacting one person at a time. Remember God controls the world (Psalm 24:1 that says the earth is the Lord's, and everything in it, the world and all who live in it). Thus, at times God is able to achieve His objectives through us without us knowing it sometimes. Even those that haven't yet given their hearts to Christ, God is able to use them too, for His will.

The best thing to do, is to surrender to His will, align with His purposes for His kingdom. This yoking with the Lord will bring rest and joy, according to the call Jesus made to exchange our burdens for His yoke which is easy and burden that is light (Matthew 11:28). In so doing, we are able to rely on God to achieve much more in and through us. Ephesians 3:20 says: "Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us," When His power is at work within us, supernatural achievements are possible. Let us yoke with Him!
