Don't be impressed with your own wisdom.

 Proverbs 3:7

Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the LORD and turn away from evil.

This is a caution from the Lord that we must never think too highly of ourselves, as the bible says in Proverbs 16:18 that pride goes before the fall. This is supported by James 4:6 that says: “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” Thinking of yourself as too wise, leads to pride and that leads to a downward spiral. In everything, we must just remember that we are because of God. The great inventions, solutions that we come up with, are not as a result of our own wisdom, but the Lord instills this wisdom and creativity in us, so that He may bring advancement and groundbreaking discoveries through us. We are His instruments. Therefore, we ought to fear the Lord and acknowledge Him in everything because He is in everywhere; evil comes when we start thinking we are great by ourselves that we don't need God. Thus we need to drive away evil by keeping God first and acknowledging Him in everything.

Allow yourself to stay humble and submitted to the Lord, for He is the One who promotes and demotes people. He knows all your hardwork and He will reward you in His own way and His own time. We just need to continue with the assignments He gave us, knowing that we will bear fruits (Colossians 3:23). Do not be discouraged, like Joseph in the bible, it may take years and years of being treated unfairly but just one move from the Lord, you become prominent where you were once kept as a prisoner.
