Benefits of having a relationship with God

 The Lord is a compassionate Father, who cares about us and want to have a close relationship with us. He is longing to tell us things we not know, He wants to enlighten us, empower us and show us things that are hidden. Jeremiah 33:3 says ‘Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know.’ This verse shows us that He is a Father that wants His children to grow in knowledge and wisdom; to have a higher level of understanding of certain things. He is the source.

In Matthew 11:28 there is another call. It says "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls." In this verse, we are invited to make an exchange with Jesus, who wants to give us rest. He calls those who are tired and worn out, to bring their challenges and in exchange, take His yoke which is light and easy to handle. By so doing, they will find rest. Life (through our own choices), can burden us with so much, that we end up being worn out and restless. This is not what God desires for us, He desires for us to have peace and be at rest. When Jesus left, He told the people that He is giving them peace, not the way the world gives (John 14:27) but His kind of peace. He further added that do not let your hearts be troubled or be afraid. This wishing them peace and rest. This is the reality for us too. When we feel tired and burdened, we need to call on Him. We need to go to Him for strength and peace.

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
