The choices that the Lord gives us

 Deuteronomy 30:11-16 says:

"Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, and to keep His commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess."

In this bible verse, the Lord is giving us a choice, to either choose life and prosperity or death and destruction. Life and prosperity is linked to following His word, worshiping only Him and loving only Him. John 10:10 tells us that Jesus came so He can give us life and life more abundantly. That is our ultimate goal, to turn away from putting other things first before God. Allowing God to give us life of abundance. The second option, which is not ideal, is choosing death and destruction. The other part of John 10:10 also tells us that the enemy came to kill, destroy and destruct. Thus, choosing the second option, is linked to disobeying God and following what the enemy wants, which unfortunately leads to death and destruction.

Therefore, in order to live a life that is pleasing to God, a life that is aligned with God's plans, verse 16 of Deuteronomy 30 tells us to love the Lord and walk in obedience to Him. Let us pray for God's wisdom and help to achieve this.
