Turning curses to blessings

1 Chronicles 4:9

"Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, “I gave birth to him in pain.” Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.” And God granted his request."

When Jabez was born, things were not good, there was so much pain that his mother set a reminder thereof. With such a burden, it could continue throughout his life as a prophecy made at that moment and this was what Jabez recognized and that's when he decided to cancel the pain from following him throughout his life. He prayed to God, asked to live a life free of pain and harm, he further asked for a blessing, to have his land or territory to be enlarged. The bible tells us that God granted his wishes.

This proves to us that there could be covenants that our forefathers could've entered into (knowingly or unknowingly), on our behalf, which could be harmful or not inline with God's ways, however, by humbly asking God to intervene and reverse them, we can be freed. Generational curses can be broken by the blood of Jesus, and turned into generational blessings. Our sensitivity and obedience will lead us to freedom and that for the many generations to come.
