After suffering a little while, He will restore
1 Peter 5:10
And the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.
Storms can be raging on every side, doubt may creep in if God can see you but rest assured that He does and He is with you in the storm. Instead, the bible says we must rejoice when we encounter trials and tribulations (Matthew 5:11-13) for great is the reward that awaits us. So, 1 Peter 5:10 encourages us that after we have suffered a little while, God will restore us, strengthen us, make us firm and steadfast, immovable. No matter how rough it may be, remember, that's part of the suffering for a little while, from there on, comes strength and restoration.
I learned that when God allows us to go through difficulties, He is preparing us, equipping us with the characters that we need. Or He is teaching us something or He is allowing us an opportunity to be totally dependent on Him (to avoid us thinking that we are self-sufficient and can do it all). Hence He humbles us and strengthens our faith in Him through these circumstances which He delivers us from in the end.
Therefore, when there's a sticky situation, ask yourself if there's something God is teaching you out of that situation, or is He equipping you in a particular area or is it an opportunity for your faith to be strengthened. Also remember, He will restore you...
