God rescued them!

 Exodus 3:7-8

The Lord said, “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey—the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.

The children of Israel suffered for many years, being enslaved by the Egyptians. God saw their cry, pain and suffering and when the time was right, God took a stand and declared their release from bondage. God rescued them by His power from slavery to a land flowing with honey and milk- the promised land!

One might ask why did God allow them to go through this and we might not have a definite answer, but through His character, we know that He doesn't allow His precious children to go through pain for nothing. But He allows it to either teach them something, to develop a particular trait in them, that He's preparing us for the blessing or that He wants to show His power and might, when He finally intervenes. You'll recall how He shamed the Egyptians as they tried to close-in on the Israelites and they ended up drowning in the sea.

So, when you find yourself going through a rough patch, change your perspective, appreciate God for the victory He's bringing for you, appreciate the lessons He's teaching you in those circumstances and rejoice on the blessing that is on the other side of your suffering, your promise land will be worth it.
