Let your light shine!

 Matthew 5:14-16 

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

It's a beautiful message indeed. God calls us the light. Remember Jesus is the light. And God is three in one, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Hence, when Jesus ascended, He left us with the Holy Spirit, that resides within us. Ultimately, the light of the Holy Spirit shines through us. And God says do not hide yourself, don't hide who you are. Let your light shine through, so that others may be drawn to you, which is actually they will be drawn to the One that lives in you. 
This is so, as you do good things for others or in general, doing right even when no one is looking. God enables you to do so, so that by people seeing your good deeds, God can be glorified as you speak about Him when asked. Give Him the glory, as we don't do this in our own strength or power but by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6). 

Key message here is that you have a light shining in and through you, God wants you to allow that light to shine on to others by acknowledging who you are and by being you, authentic. Continue doing good and let God take the honour and glory, it is by His Spirit that we are able to do what we do. Let your light shine!!!

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing .
