His obedience exalted Him!

 Philippians 2:8-11

And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross! Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

God sent Jesus in a form of a man, in our likeness so that He can identify with what we go through as humans and to show us what is possible. He had the power and authority, we saw how He drove out demons, healed the sick, called forth the dead and more. This demonstrated the power that He had which He was awarded by our Heavenly Father. Therefore, He could have used the same power to save Himself in that hour, however, He humbled Himself to the will of God and allowed Himself to die a painful death, for you and me. Thereafter, God rewarded Him, He gave Him the highest place and a name above all names. The name that is so powerful, we call it and things change. We declare upon it and mountains move, healing comes and joy is restored. Which is why we bow before Him, not because we do not have any other god to bow before, but because He is worthy! He deserves all the honour and glory. We say holy, holy is Your name!

In this bible verse, further down, in Philippians 2:14, Paul encourages us that we must do everything without grumbling and arguing, so that we may be blameless and pure children of God, without fault. Verse 15 further says, so that we may shine amongst the rest like stars in the sky. What this implies is that life can be unfair sometimes, it can be rough and we may find ourselves in sticky situations but what we must remember, is to be like Christ, be humbled, don't complain and the reward will be evident, where you shine amongst the rest! The handwork and obedience, will pay off.
