Our shortcomings shall not stop us

 Luke 19:3-6

And he was seeking to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not, because he was small in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore tree to see Him, for He was about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, He looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today.” So he hurried and came down and received him joyfully.

This is an account about Zacchaeus, who was a tax collector, who was condemned by the community for his practice. However, when he heard about Jesus passing by, he could not miss an opportunity to get a glimpse of Him and he ended up climbing up the tree where Jesus spotted him and asked to stay at his house that night. It must've been an honoour for him to host Jesus!

What we can learn from this, is that Jesus is gracious, kind and could associate with everyone, regardless of their status in the community. His mission was to transform lives, and the best way He could do that, was being with them, spending time with them to show them the way. What we can learn about Zacchaeus, is that he didn't let his physical limitations to stop him from seeing our Saviour. He did what he could to elevate himself to get a chance to see. This is pleasing to God that we can have our shortcomings, our weaknesses, but us recognizing that our problems can be resolved by His power; that's all that we can do. He will do the rest. He sees our hearts and will meet us half-way.

Don't be discouraged by the circumstances or your shortcomings, find a way around it and God will take care of the rest.
