Say "no" to the devil and "yes" to God!

 James 4:7-10 (MSG)

So let God work His will in you. Yell a loud no to the Devil and watch him make himself scarce. Say a quiet yes to God and He’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. Quit playing the field. Hit bottom, and cry your eyes out. The fun and games are over. Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.

A firm instruction for us, if we want to see ourselves get on our feet. God wants us to allow Him, give Him the right of way to do His will in our lives, to have His plans come to pass. This, by rebuking and chasing away the devil, not allowing his ways to prevail in our lives. Also, by saying yes to God, who will come in no time, as He waits on us. 

Let us allow the Holy Spirit to purify us, cleanse us and give us a fresh perspective, that will lead us on the path God has for us. The Holy Spirit is there to guide and show us the way. We need to stop taking things for granted and realize that we are on the clock. We are not here forever, but we are here for a short space of time, which we need to use and make our mark, to allow God the glory that He deserves. Therefore, as the bible says, get down on your knees in order to get on your feet.

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
