By faith, we believe!
2 Corinthians 5:7
For we live by faith, not by sight.
Living by sight, can be very deceiving and definitely not pleasing to God. The bible tells us, that by faith, we are saved. By just believing the word, that we've heard through the scriptures, we believe what we are told. There's teaching on how everything came into existence, and by faith we believe; that God created everything by word (with exception of humans). We believe Christ was born through a virgin young lady called Mary, we believe Jesus was crucified and He rose again after three days. All these, we believe by faith (we were not there, but we know it is true). Many bible stories show us how much faith paid for them. For example, God instructed Noah to build an ark, that there was going to be floods. By faith, he believed and did as he was told. Years later, exactly what God told him would happen, actually came to pass. Joseph had a dream, a vision, a revelation that his brothers would bow down to him. He was cursed, insulted, shouted at and left for dead. But after many years of suffering, going from the pit, to jail and eventually, he was appointed 2nd in command in Egypt, where he was instrumental to the country. Indeed, his brothers came and bowed down to him as they were in need of food, exactly what he told them. By faith, he believed the vision God showed him and it came to pass. Another example was Abraham, the father of many nations (us included). God instructed him to go sacrifice his one and only son, whom he had when he was much older. By faith, he believed God's word and knew that God always has a plan and would come through for him. Indeed, the Lord provided a sacrifice for him and he didn't have to sacrifice his only son. This proved to God that he is obedient to him.
By faith, I believe I'm a descendent of Abraham, the promises God made to him, that they will flow to his descendants, I receive them for myself. I am blessed because God blessed him and his descendants. By faith, I believe I'm righteousness of God through Christ. Regardless of my flaws, mistakes, sins., regrets, Jesus did it for me on the cross. It is done, it is finished!
Do you believe? Can you live a life that shows who your Father is? Can you have confidence that God is with you and is for you? Do you believe you are made in the image of God and that God through the Holy Spirit lives in you? That you can do ALL things, through Christ who strengthens you? If you don't, then you are saying Jesus' death on the cross was in vain...That would be sad through. May I please encourage you to hold on tight to your faith, know for sure that you are who God says you are, don't look at the circumstances or what society says. Focus on what God says.
