A lesson from David

 1 Samuel 17:45

David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.

These were the words spoken by David, the shepherd boy when He was facing Goliath; one of the most powerful stories in the bible. David had courage to face the enemy, this courage was not based on his own abilities, but it was based on the trust that he had for God. He knew the One he served and the One that came through for him time and time again. Prior to this, the bible tells us that David had a fight with a bear and on another occasion with a lion. Both wanted to snatch his sheep but he killed them. Thus, David realized that God was with him, helping him fight these giants.

God is our advantage in our lives, we don't face life on our own, we have the One who sees everything and who is able to do ALL things. It will be such a shame that you have an advantage in your life, that can catapult you to greater heights but due to lack of knowledge or trust, you end up not reaching those heights. Hosea 4:6 says: "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children." Please do not find yourself destroyed as a result of lack of knowledge, know who you are and whose you are. Once that sinks in, it will make a big difference in your life.

God has some giants that He needs you to fight, be ready and stand firm. Hold on to what God said to you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. Remember, like David, you taking on the fight could save the nation! You are the chosen of God.
