The Lord has the final say...

 Proverbs 16:1 NLT)

We can make our own plans, but the LORD gives the right answer.

Another version says we may make our own plans, but the Lord has the final answer. This simply means that we may make our own plans, of what we desire or wish for, but in the end, the Lord has the final say. Sometimes our plans may align with the will of the Lord, which is great; but at times our plans or wishes may be opposite to what the Lord has planned for you. In that case, our plans will fail, as the will of the Lord prevails always.

I remember three years ago, I planned a career fair for two high schools in my hometown, where I made the necessary arrangements for the relevant learners to be put in the same venue; but, a day before, my plans fell flat where I couldn't accommodate the learners from both schools. However, one school went ahead with us, that we can proceed in their classrooms and the other school could not accommodate us. On that day, the Lord led me to this verse and that's when I realized that we may make our plans, based on what we think is right or ideal, but in the end, things will happen the way the Lord wants it to.

In Proverbs 16:3, it says commit to the Lord whatever yo do, and your plans will succeed. In this case, you will bring your plans to the Lord well in advance, and listen to His guidance, so that He will fine-tune them as you go; where in the end, everything will be aligned with His will, and then your plans will succeed. God wants to be involved in every area of our lives, no matter how big or small. Whether it's something we struggle with, or a career move, He wants to be part of it. Today, the Holy Spirit was convicting me about surrendering EVERY area of my  life, not some or part, but every area, so that He may take charge and be in control, as He should be. I'm also urging you to do the same, bring every area of your life to Him and He will work things out for you. Trust Him with your life; afterall, the life we have, is from Him.
