Check your priorities...

 Luke 10:41-42

“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

I'm certain that we could all relate to what Martha did. This is a story about Jesus visiting the siblings and as a guest, Martha decided to go to the kitchen to prepare something to eat for their guest, whilst her sister Mary, sat at the feet of Jesus to listen to the word He was sharing. Upon being overwhelmed and frustrated with the chores she had to do, Martha got upset with her sister for leaving her to do everything herself, whilst she was just sitting down.

However Jesus indicated that Martha should learn from her sister who was prioritizing on what's more important, which is feeding off on the word of God. Yes it might be important to treat the guest well and serve them, but what's more important is to feed our souls from the Most High. In the same way with us, in our daily lives, we might find ourselves trying to ensure everyone is ok, serving them, but we must not neglect the importance of spending time in the presence of the Lord. This has been a game-changer for me, where I decided to dedicate time to be in His presence, reading the word, praying, worshipping, or just listen in. God sees the dedication and it is the more we strengthen our relationship with Him.
