You matter to God!

 Psalm 8:3-4

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is mankind that you are mindful of them, human beings that you care for them?

God really cares. This verse is just a reminder that there's so much that could be on God's agenda, that needs His attention but He makes time for us. He thinks about us, listens to us and work things out for us. He created the heavens, moon, starts and everything that we see and know of. It is an honour that we are one of His creation, that He values so much above all else. When you consider that He created everything by a word, but He took His time to craft human beings, every detail of it, the inside and outside, wow, it is humbling! This creation He made in His image, how cool is that? There really must be a lot of affection from Him for us...

If that doesn't convince you that you matter and you have a purpose, consider the sacrifice that He gave, just for you. Just to cleanse you, to have a relationship with you and to reconcile with you. In all this, we may feel like we ought to repay Him somehow, but He doesn't expect that at all. All He needs is for us to acknowledge who He is in our lives and receive His love. This we can do by seeking Him and His kingdom, to want to know more about His will and plans for us, putting Him first in everything we do. Afterall, He promises that if you do so, He will give you what you need (Matthew 6:33). In many cases, as people we do it the other way round, seek what we need and seek Him after we've hit a brick wall. But the correct order, is to seek His kingdom and He will add the rest.

From today onwards, just recognize how much you matter to Him, how much He values you. It doesn't matter whether society appreciates you or not, God does and that's all that matters.
