God loved us and expects for all to love one another...

 1 John 4:11

Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

This bible chapter teaches us about the love of God, how He displayed His love for mankind by sending and sacrificing His one and only Son, for our regard. It tells us God loved us first, and so by this act of love, we have no choice but to receive His love and try reciprocate it in our own way. It can never match but we know God understands and that is good enough. Furthermore, we are urged to love others. Not because you know them or like them, only because it is the second most important commandment that God gave us, which comes after the one of loving Him with all of our mind, heart and soul.

Love is the opposite of hate, we know God says we must hate what is evil (in Romans 12:9), this showing that it doesn't mean that with this command, we must condone and be in agreement with what is evil, but to love everyone as per the command and hate the acts not the person. Tricky one and in our own strength we couldn't do, which is why love is one of the fruits of the spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) that when you have the Holy Spirit, He will teach and guide you in such a way that the fruits that you bear, includes love. Which is why we need to lean not in our own understanding, but to trust the Lord, trust the Holy Spirit to teach and guide us; in that way, we will be able to love God and love our neighbors as we love ourselves. Should this be a pinch-point for you, I urge you to take it to the Lord as your Father  is willing and ready to assist. He loves you!
