Whatever you do, do it in His name!

 Colossians 3:17

 And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.

We need to realize that we are the disciples of Jesus here on earth, Christ Ambassadors, powered by the Holy Spirit! The last part is comforting, as the Holy Spirit will help us in doing that which God has ordained and sent us to do. This bible verse reminds us that whatever we do or say, let us do it in His honour! There's another verse that says, whether you are eating or drinking, do it for the glory of God (1Corinthians 10:31). I was asking myself what it means, the significance thereof. I got an understanding that what we have, what we do, it is all for His glory. We have an opportunity to eat for example, not because of our wisdom or doing, but behind the scene, God makes sure that He provides for us, so that we don't go to bed hungry. Now that you have something to eat, enjoy and remembering that He made it possible; hence do it in His honour. Some things we have come to take for granted and mistake to have control over, but it is all God's doing. 

The last part of this verse reminds us gratitude, which is so important. With God providing for us, healing us, sheltering us, prospering us, fighting for us, it's only the right thing to do- give thanks to Him. Acknowledge His presence and the role He plays in our lives. We may not see Him, but He sure is there. Psalm 91:11-12 tells us that He commands His angels to guard us, how awesome is that! We must never feel alone, He is with us and He sure is for us. All we need to do, is give thanks to Him for all He does for us. Amen!

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
