An armour of God is important to shield against temptations.

 1 Corinthians 10:13

The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, He will show you a way out so that you can endure.

This is so comforting. Life is full of distractions and things that would want to draw us away from God and His presence; however, this verse reminds us that when we go through temptations, we must not see it as an unfair situation where we are the only ones going through it. What we need to remember is that everyone goes through the same. An added advantage for us is that God is with us, even when we go through those temptations, He is still with us. Just like God was with Jesus when He was tempted by the devil just after a 40-day fast. Jesus stood on the word of God and was able to overcome the schemes of the enemy! In the same way, I believe God will provide similar help for us. The key is to know the word of God, what God said because the devil also uses the word of God, just in a twisted way; hence we also need to know the word as our weapon. Which is why Ephesians 6:10-18 is so important, to put on the full armour of God at all times. Where the word of God is one of the weapons we need to defend ourselves.

But what the bible verse is saying, that brings peace in my heart, is that God knows our limits, He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can handle. God may allow the devil to test us, to prove to him who we say we are in Christ; however, God has the authority to put an end to the devil's tests when he has overstepped the limits. God will come in and give us strategies on how to escape, He will rescue us. All is all, hold on to God, build your relationship with Him and put on your full armour. You will pass the test!
