His plans prevails...
Proverbs 16:9
We can make our plans, but the LORD determines our steps.
I think the sooner ww make peace with this fact, the better. God is the one that guides our footsteps, who determines which direction we take and how that happens. We may have desires and wishes for certain things in life, at times plans that are aligned with God's plans (when He places those desires in our hearts) and at times our plans may be in a different direction to God's plans. To have a peaceful life, it is to know that God is in control and His will, His plan for our lives prevails. This helps when things suddenly changes and they are no longer as we anticipated, then we accept quicker the way things have turned out; as we understand that it is in God's plans. Fighting the process leads to stagnation, frustration and delays. Insisting on our ways/plans, can also lead to painful learning lessons and rework.
So, having a plan is not a bad thing, in fact we should make time for this. The next steps should be taking it to God to bless or give direction. When we've done all we could and things don't go as we hoped for, it means God has something better. Instead, we should rejoice as we know, God gives good gifts (look at Jesus). Embrace the new steps He's ordering and enjoy the journey (with its learning lessons). That's how God matures us, whilst equipping us for the promise land.
