Love and pray for your enemies...

 Matthew 5:43-44

“You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you!

Jesus is always stretching us, pulling us from being just average to exceptional. This commandment may seem tough and impossible, as with humans it is easy not to like the one who is your enemy, but loving your selected few. However, in the kingdom of God, there needs to be a distinction between the non-believers and the believers. As a believer, you are called to love everyone, including your enemy. Infact the bible says pray for your enemies, bless them and wish them well. This clears your conscious and helps keep you from having hateful feelings in your heart and wishing others harm. No matter how much your enemy has done you bad, the Lord says do not avenge for yourself instead take it to Him, as vengeance is the Lord's (Romans 12:19). This means, God will be the one who decides punishment for your enemy and also the one to execute it. That is between the Lord and your enemy. But for you, is to pray for them; even pray for them to change from their wicked ways and repent from that, so that the Lord may have mercy on them. This keeps you in good standing with the Lord, as you'll remain blameless...

This also applies to us the children of the kingdom, that in whatever you do, remember not to find yourself offending another child of God, as God's vengeance will be on you. Which is always a key to pray for forgiveness and repentance where you might have fallen short; God is merciful, and He understands. All He needs is you owning up to your mistakes and repent. Ask for forgiveness for the wrongs you know of and the ones you might not. Remember the psalm of David, Psalm 139:23-24 that says: "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." That is the one, may the Lord continue cleansing and refreshing you...
