The truth has set us free!

 John 8:31-32

Jesus said to the people who believed in Him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Jesus teaches us the importance to remain faithful to His teachings, thus the bible and the learning lessons we get from there. Which He refers to it as the truth, that the more we remain in His teachings, it is the more we know the truth. In the times we live in, there's a lot going on, information overload which can be overwhelming, misleading and depressing. However, the word of God serves as a tool that keeps us in-check, grounded and anchored to our Source. It reveals the actual truth on everything. As I grow older and invest time in reading the bible, it is then that I realize that the bible is truly our guide, it reveals the character of God and what He says about us, it reveals who we are in Him. It further reveals what pleases God and what makes Him unhappy. The bible serves as a tool that we can connect ourselves to about what's written and apply it to our own lives. It is a tool that also uplifts and encourages us, through the word of God and the examples of victories that God brought for His children. It even tells us of the inheritance that we have access to, simply by faith (due to the covenant between God and Abraham). It reveals the truth we are set free, by the blood of Jesus who became a sacrifice for us. That we have access to God and His great mercy and grace. It is a treasure book indeed!

2 Corinthians 3:17 says: "Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. " Christ lives in us through the Holy Spirit, and the bible clearly says where the Holy Spirit is, there is freedom! This is liberating! It changes your perspective on things, that no matter what, you are free. God has given us this freedom to enjoy, not to be bound by regrets, fear, shame, disappointments, no! We have been set free!
