Stand firm!

 1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain.

When the Lord has assigned you or positioned you in a particular place, for a particular purpose, the enemy may try to stop you from doing that which God has told you. In this case, there could be attacks in a form of unfriendly environment, where certain people make it difficult to perform your duties, there may be distractions that suddenly demands your attention and calls for you to divert from what you needed to do. It could even be sickness that distracts you altogether. Any of these or even other distractions, could lead to almost quitting that which you set your heart to do. But the Lord, according to this bible verse, is urging us to be immovable, persistent and to stand firm. Keep pressing on the thing we are assigned, in one way or the other.

Also, we are urged to fully commit ourselves to the work of the Lord; to do every task as though we are doing it unto the Lord, because in fact we are (Colossians 3:23). When you have such perspective, you will be committed and do your best as you know you are not doing it for people or companies, but for the Lord. We are reminded that the Lord is a good rewarded, He sees the efforts and determination and will reward accordingly. Nothing is wasted and it is beneficial for the kingdom of the Lord!
