As a follower of Christ, you are called to give up your life, to save it!

 Luke 9:23-24

Then He said to the crowd, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow Me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for My sake, you will save it.

As a follower of Christ, you ought to give up your ways, your thinking, your wisdom in exchange for God's ways over your life. Recognizing that He is Lord over your life, with a purpose and plan for His glory and honour, means submitting your plans for His. In the book of Jeremiah 1:5, we are told that when you were still in your mother's womb, He knew you, He called you by name, He set you apart! He chose you for His plans!

This is great, though the devil also is aware of your anointing, and thus the weapons that gets formed to distract and keep you from doing that which God has called you to do. Regardless, Jesus is calling us to make that conscious decision to press forward regardless, to pick up our crosses and continue following Him, never giving up. Things may seem tough, with no way out, but one thing is for sure, is that God is with you and He is for you, He will never leave nor forsake you. This means, He will bring victory out of that situation; for you is just to hold on and push forward.

Lastly, we are cautioned not to hang on to our lives, because we will lose it. Thus, being selfish and looking out for our own interest and not pursuing God's assignment, this may lead to losing altogether. However, when we surrender it to God, recognizing that He is the One who gave us this life in the first place, He will save and preserve it. So, it's a matter of not clinging too hard on your life but allowing God to use you as an instrument in His hand as He sees fit and He will reward you. Stay blessed!
