God is our shelter, our refuge!

 Psalm 91:1-2

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. This I declare about the LORD: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I trust Him.

In time of trouble, where do you run to? We may have all sorts of list but our first option, should be running to our Heavenly Father. The reason why we do that, is because we trust Him, it's in His nature to be protective of us, to be caring and compassionate towards us. This encourages us that He will never turn His back on us, He will shelter and keep us safe. In the spiritual realm, a lot is happening, and I believe God is fighting our battles that we don't even see. By virtue of you confessing that you are a child of God, you basically declared war with the forces of darkness, the kingdom of darkness. Which is why, life may seem like a battle, where at times you find yourself fighting off one thing after another, these relates to the spiritual battles to take you out. John 10:10 makes it clear that the objective of the enemy is to either kill you, destroy you or steal from you; or all of the above. Which is why, Ephesians 6:12 tells us that: "For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places." And these may manifest as physical issues, but they are sent by these evil principalities. Hence it is important to have a covering, a shelter and that's who God is to us!

Therefore, we need not have to live in fear (2 Timothy 1:7), but to recognize our Source of protection, strength and safety. The bible tells us that God has discharged angels to be in charge of us, protecting and keeping us safe (Psalm 91:11). Again, in time of trouble, call on Him, He is more than willing and able to come to your rescue.
