God, our Potter, is at work in us...

 Philippians 1:6

And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

Did you know that God is at work, in and within you? The bible in the book of Jeremiah 18 tells us that God is like a Potter that works with clay and rework as He sees fit. An explanation is given that similar to a potter that would work clay to get a perfect shape, by removing excess pieces and keep shaping it, so are we. As His children, we are in His hands where He is continuously shaping and molding us to be the best design that He envisages us to be. He knows our strengths and abilities, gifts and talents that He placed in us, He allows challenges and difficulties to refine us, to the desired state. Which is an honour and a fact that is comforting, knowing that we don't just live life purposeless, but that God has a purpose for each one of us and He continuously work in us, so that we may deliver on that assignment. And that we may have the correct characteristics and attitudes that will enable us to deliver on what we have been assigned.

Therefore, in this verse, Paul is reminding us that the beautiful work that God started in us, shaping and molding us to be more like Him, He will work at it and finish when Jesus returns. And when He returns, we need not have to worry about where we will go. I was reading John 14 today and verse 2 gave me comfort about my loved ones that have passed and about my own return, that Jesus returned to our Father to prepare rooms for us. We have a special place awaiting us, when Jesus returns. Therefore, whilst we are still living and breathing, God is at work in us and helping us with the assignments He has given us; also that when it is time to return home, we already have a place secured for us. May this encourage you to be the best version you can be, by allowing God to mold you to the design that He has for you. Also, never to worry about after-death, as Jesus has prepared that room.
