The importance of having faith

 Hebrews 11:1

Faith shows the reality of what we hope for; it is the evidence of things we cannot see.

The kingdom of God, is based on faith. I'm sure you've heard the verse about living by faith and not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7), well it is precisely that, believe in what you have not seen by your own eye but having the full confidence thereon. For example, we have never seen God in person, however, by faith we know He lives and He is who He says He is. Thus, as a result that the bible tells us so and the experience confirms that. I believe this is one aspect that people struggle with, to believe first before you see, where people prefer to see first then believe. But if that was the case, then it means we would be superficial, where we are dependent on seeing the results first, before you can believe. This means, we wouldn't stretch ourselves, we wouldn't push ourselves to dream bigger, because we would want the dream to be fulfilled first, before we take a step; on the other hand, what would motivate you to take the step in the first place? Basically, we'll be waiting for everything, forever! That is not life, that would be mediocre.

We need to have faith in everything, see the future before the future gets here. See yourself in that position you aspire to secure, then start working towards it, as you believe you can receive it. Same with having faith in God and His promises, we need to believe His promises that He made us, in the bible and then live in anticipation for the manifestation thereof, whilst we work towards it. For example, God promises that we will be lenders and not borrowers (Deuteronomy 15:6; Deuteronomy 28:12), if you have faith and believe this promise of God, and start aligning yourself towards that (by cutting excess expenditure, looking for ways to expand your income etc.), before your know it, you have sufficient to cover all your debts and clear them off (and start helping out those around you). That promise would be fulfilled in your life as you believed what God said, you aligned yourself and started working towards it. The bible says faith without works, is dead (James 2:26). So, it is important to have faith, believe and align yourself to have the promise manifested in your life. Don't let the enemy steal your faith...
