We all form part of the body of Christ, special and unique!

 1 Corinthians 12:25-27

This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each otherIf one part suffers, all the parts suffer with it, and if one part is honored, all the parts are glad. All of you together are Christ’s body, and each of you is a part of it.

This is one of my favourite bible verses, that reminds us that we are all God's children and we are created in a unique manner for a reason. This means, we are not made in the same way, we are not here to fulfill the same purpose; therefore, there should be no competition amongst ourselves and no jealousy as we understand that we are unique. This verse likens us, members of the kingdom of God to the body, which has many parts that each have a special part to play. None is above the other, but they are complimentary for the body to function well. This verse tells us that when one part of the body suffers, the rest of the parts suffers with it; also, when the one part is honoured, the rest of the parts rejoices with that one body part. Have you noticed that when one of your body parts is hurt, it is difficult for the rest of the body to function normal, as simple as a finger, when one is hurt, the hand finds it difficult to maneuver through simple tasks. Same as us, body of Christ, when one of us is not well, the body of Christ suffers. This could be in any way or form, which is why we ought to help each other up, so that the body functions well. This means, when someone is decoupaged, it's our duty to bring encouraging words to that person to get their fire back and get back to their assignment. If someone is grieving, it's on us to comfort that person so that they may feel stronger and loved, and get back to their tasks, and so on.

Similarly, when one of us has been blessed in one way or the other, we need to celebrate with that person, rejoice and be glad for them. For their success is the success of the body of Christ. This takes maturity, to recognize that we are all on our own race, racing against ourselves, to the finish line. That we are not racing each other. Hence, we need to cheer each other up at the different levels/stages that we are at. 2 Timothy 4:7 says: "have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith." We need to focus on our own race, the assignment God has given us and strive to finish it well.

Should this be a foreign concept for you, pray about it so that God may help you to have the correct perspective about this. The sooner you focus on your own race, it is the more you will make more progress in life.
