He is our good Shepherd indeed!

 John 10:11

"I am the good Shepherd. The good Shepherd sacrifices His life for the sheep."

As Psalm 23 says that the Lord is our Shepherd, Jesus is confirming that! He is indeed our good Shepherd. He laid down His life for His sheep, which is us. When He allowed Himself to be crucified and die a painful death for us, He was laying His life for our regard. He had us in mind and went ahead with God's plan. This doesn't mean it wasn't difficult, painful for Him (Matthew 27:45-46), it also doesn't mean He didn't try to persuade God to relieve Him of this, indeed He did, however, He indicated that if this is God's will for Him, then let it be. We learn that sometimes we may want to find a way out of a situation, but are unable to, because our will is not the same as God's will. In this case, we need to let go and trust God and His will. He already told us that He has a future that will not harm us (Jeremiah 29:11).

Won't we embrace what He did and live out the promises we received as a result of His act. Let us allow Him first place in our lives and like sheep, listen to His voice and be obedient. Allow Him to guide our path as we know He is faithful, and He loves us deeply. It is an honour and a privilege to be part of His family, that we can access all the benefits He has for us. By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing .
