Hear His voice and follow Him...

 John 10:3-4

The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep recognize his voice and come to him. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. After he has gathered his own flock, he walks ahead of them, and they follow him because they know his voice.

This is another reflection, of how Jesus is to us. As our good Shepherd, He knows us one-by-one. So powerful that He can see us individually and knows us personally. When in a crowd, you may feel like it will be easy for Him to overlook, not see or hear you. But not with the Most High. This verse shows the relationship that the sheep has with its shepherd, that they recognize his voice and follow him. Same with us, we need to spend so much time with Him, such that we are able to recognize Him in the midst of the noise. Even when the voice of the enemy tries to deceive us, but to be able to discern when it is Him or the enemy. This, we can only achieve by spending time seeking Him and also with the help of the Holy Spirit. In our own power, we may not be able to get it right all the time.

Therefore, challenge yourself to grow your relationship with God, as it is an investment indeed. Matthew 6:33 says: "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This is in order, that our lives, should be based on seeking and doing His will first, then the rest will fall into place. The more you seek Him, the more God reveals great and mighty things you did not know about (Jeremiah 33:3). That will save you in the day of trouble, when the enemy tries to trap you. Ensure that you put Him first, always and in everything.
