His body was broken and His blood was shed for our regard...Best we don't forget that.

 Luke 22:19-20

He took some bread and gave thanks to God for it. Then He broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, “This is My body, which is given for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.” After supper He took another cup of wine and said, “This cup is the new covenant between God and His people—an agreement confirmed with my blood, which is poured out as a sacrifice for you.

We are in the season that reminds us of the miraculous power of God. This verse reminds us of what Jesus has done for us. This was His last supper (as it is normally referred to), which He was sharing with His disciples, shortly before He was crucified. Jesus was revealing the true meaning of the crucifixion, the reason behing the gruesome act of His killing. That His body was broken for our regard, that through Him, we are made whole. The blood that was shed, was new covenant between God and us. What an honour and a priviledge to have Jesus do that for us! The bible tells us that He was afflicted for our regard, the stripes He endured, was securing our healing (Isaiah 53:3-5). The pain He suffered was ensuring that we will have joy. We are told that He was forsaken by His Father, who could've easily saved Him from this pain, but prophecy had to be fulfilled, God's will had to prevail in order for us never to be forsaken by our Heavenly Father.

As we remember the biggest act of love and kindness by God for us, may we show gratitude to Him for what He has done for us. May we never forget what it took, for us to enjoy the freedom we have now. Instead, let us strive to access every bit of promise/gift that God has for us, because the price has already been paid. Let us receive the inheritance that God has for us and let us live in purpose, bringing honour and glory to Him!
