Jesus is the light of the world, and so are you!

 John 8:12

Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow Me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

Jesus, not only is He the bread of life and a good Shepherd, but He is also our Light! We need light in our daily life, we cannot do without it. The electricity black-outs time and again, reminds us how much light makes a difference in our daily activities. Without light, we are stuck, we can possibly hurt ourselves, we feel vulnerable and so much more. This on a practical basis. It is also true for our spiritual life as well, life in the dark, leaves us vulnerable to the schemes and plots of the enemy, that could trap us. We can go in circles because we don't have direction. Hence, with Jesus as our light, we have clarity, we have direction, we have security, and we are at ease because we know God is in control.

Furthermore, this light that Jesus refers to, has been extended to us as well. Matthew 5:14 says: "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden." Thus, by being followers of Christ, we are the light of the world as well. God has placed His light in us to help direct people back to Him. What an honour! So, embrace who and what God says you are and ask the Holy Spirit to direct you to be the light of the world, and truly represent the kingdom of God on earth. We are the chosen ones...

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
