We have seen His glory...

 John 1:14

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

We might not have lived in those days when Jesus was walking the streets of Jerusalem, but we have witnessed His goodness and touch in our lives. Indeed, the word became flesh, where the promises were fulfilled and the virgin gave birth to our King. What a miracle we are witnessing!

We are told that Jesus came to give us a glimpse of our Heavenly Father! His heart, His kindness, His goodness, His power, His presence. His glory is evident. This is why God allows us to go through difficulties, so that we may feel and see His power at work in us. Take sickness for example, if we never got sick, we wouldn't be so sure that indeed He is Jehovah Rapha, our Healer because we would not have seen His loving-kindness towards us, His mercy bringing healing in our lives. We wouldn't know Him as Jehovah Jireh, our Provider if we have not found ourselves lacking, to see His provision in ways we didn't think was possible. Therefore, the difficulties we find ourselves in, God allows them so that our faith and trust in Him may be strengthened and we may lean on Him more.
