Instruction: don't let your hearts be troubled...

 John 14:1-3

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.

Jesus tells us not to be afraid, very important. The bible has many verses that tells us not to be afraid. We need to believe this as God is with us. When you read about the many amazing stories in the bible, you get to realize that those people found themselves in many challenges situations, such as Daniel in a lion's den, the three teenagers- Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego in the fiery furnace, Joseph in a pit/prison and many more. What stands out is that God was with them and that made all the difference. God was able to strengthen and protect them, plus He rewarded them for being afflicted. Thus, we may feel afraid, but we need to take God's offer, that we lean on Him (not our understanding or what we feel). He is there with us no matter what!

The second portion of this verse reminds us that earth is not our permanent home. We may go through difficulties, but that will not last. Jesus has already gone to prepare us a permanent home, which He tells us that when the time is right, He will fetch us to be with Him always. This is truly comforting and something to look forward to. Let us strengthen our relationship with the Lord and ensure that we never lose out on this opportunity of life in eternity.
