The Lord is our shelter, our protector!!

 Psalm 119:114

You are my refuge and my shield; your word is my source of hope.

This word is so timely, where at night we were woken up by the earth shaking due to the earthquake that took place. As this happened, I found myself in prayer, not feeling fearful but I found myself looking to God to come through, to whatever it was that we were hearing and experiencing. Indeed, He is the source of our hope, our refuge and shelter. Only by His grace nothing happened to us, it passed, and we were left wondering what that was. Plus, we live to tell the story that indeed, He is our shelter and protector, in time of need. We praise Him for His ever-present help. 


I would like to urge you to put your hope in Him. Try Him, test Him. He is who He says He is. He is the Source of life, He is our protector, shelter and our help. In life, we have a choice, on where we put our hope. Whether in people, things or in God our Father. I can testify that He will never leave you, nor forsake you as He says in His word (Hebrews 13:5). You just need to give Him first place, make Him priority and your go-to place. He'll never let you down. He is faithful!

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing .
