Work for peace and you will inherit the kingdom of God!

 Matthew 5:9

God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.

Ultimately, we are called to be peacemakers. We see this from the walk of Christ, where He came to mend and bring stability. As we know in many kingdoms, there's always strife and war, however the kingdom of the Lord is that of love and peace. We see this in the way Jesus approached disputes, that He seeks to settle them peacefully. Take the example of the woman caught in adultery, found in the book of John 8:1-11, where people brought a woman that was caught in adultery to Jesus, and were ready to stone her to death. However, Jesus calmed them with facts, where He asked them to cast a stone on her if they had no sin; this hit hard, and they all disappeared and couldn't continue with their violent act they were proposing.

It is the same with us, we are called to work for peace, find a common ground without compromising what the Lord said. May we be known for the fruits that we bear, that includes loving, kind, compassionate, peaceful and fair. According to this verse for today, if you do so, you will be known as the children of God. Meaning, the kingdom of God will be yours; a wonderful inheritance!

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing .
