Jesus says, give up your life to save it!

 Mark 8:35

If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake and for the sake of the Good News, you will save it.

In this passage, Jesus is giving us a choice, whether to hang on to our old life and insist on the direction we initially had in mind or will we surrender our life to Him, for His glory and honour. The right way is to give up our lives to Christ as the bible tells us that we will have to carry our own crosses and follow Jesus. That is Matthew 16:24 and it says: "Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If any of you wants to be My follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow Me." We do this because we trust Him, He is the truth, the way and the life (John 14:6). Therefore, we give up our own ways and thoughts for His, because we don't know any better, but He does. He is the way, He is the truth and He is the life. If you feel you are living a life in the dark, you then need to seek where the light is and Jesus promises that you will never stumble and fall, in fact He will crown you and make you the light in your space (Matthew 5:14-16).

This verse for today, challenges us to not to take matters into our own hands, because of what we think we know, but to allow Alpha and Omega, the One who was there in the beginning and will be there in the end, to take control because He knows better. That is losing your life to Christ and He in turn promises that if you do that, you will save your life, here on earth and you'll be secured of life in eternity as well. Therefore, choose wisely, give up your life, in order to save it. He cares for you, that's why He died for you, so that your life can be saved.

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing .
