By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3

By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence.

By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. However, God understands that we are not perfect (and we should never pressurize ourselves to be perfect), but with the guidance we have, we know that where we fall short, we can run to the Lord without guilt or shame, knowing that He is our Father who loves us and is willing to help us every step of the way. This, however, does not mean that we are giving green light to go and sin, but by understanding what the word tells us, we fully get it why wrong is wrong and it remains wrong. 

This is why we are urged to soak ourselves in the word, which will equip and prepare us for different scenarios. But most importantly, to get close to the Lord who will help guide us and through the Holy Spirit, to help us and show us the way. Therefore, see it as a blessing that we have this privilege to be guided by Him as we walk day-by-day, as alluded to in Psalm 32:8 that says: "The LORD says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." This means we just need to pay attention to His guidance and be obedient, then we can take comfort that the life we live, is pleasing to Him.
