Continue to love one another!

 1 John 4:7

Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God.

God is love (1 John 4:8) and He teaches us to love. To love Him, love our neighbours, and to love ourselves. We are told that love comes from God, so anyone who loves, is a child of God and knows God. This is certainly one indicator if a person knows God or not. It is one of the fruits of the spirit as indicated in the book of Galatians 5:22-23. 

Furthermore, the bible tells us how to tell if someone comes with the spirit from the kingdom of God or from the kingdom of darkness. 1 John 4:2 says: "This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God." Thus, anyone recognizing Jesus, acknowledges our Father, who is love. This as a result that Jesus came to show us a glimpse of our Father, His heart. When we look at how compassionate, loving, kind, selfless Jesus was (whilst on earth), we recognize the love from God. Therefore, now that we know that God is love, we need to love as He does. He asks us in the verse for today to love others. Acknowledge this instruction and atleast attempt to be obedient. God will meet you halfway.

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
