God says forgive them to free YOU!

 Matthew 6:14

“If you forgive those who sin against you, your heavenly Father will forgive you.

Forgiving a person, is a big ask, not very easy; particularly if you have been done really wrong. However, our Heavenly Father is asking us to forgive! This is one of His principles, and He doesn't expect this of us, not knowing how hard it is, but He says this because He knows it is the right thing to do and that it is possible. He is the first One to have done it, hard as it was but He did, for us. Our sins were filthy, and they created a wedge between us and Him, however, He was willing to look past our wrong and devise a mechanism that will allow this forgiveness- and that was to send His Son to earth to die for us. Painful, but He did it.

Now God is asking us to do what He did, to forgive those who have wronged us. This is not to do it because you say what they did is right or insignificant, but it is to release you from the bondage of bitterness, hurt that is caused by unforgiveness. Unforgiveness creates negative thoughts and feelings that builds us inside of you, which becomes a time-bomb. God doesn't want that, He wants us to live a Free Life, happy life. He's not saying forget what they did, but just forgive them for the wrong they did and let it go. If it's any comfort, God will deal with it in His way- vengeance is the Lord's (Romans 12:19). Free YOU and forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing. Plus, at times, they do the wrong as pushed by the evil spirits to get to you. Let it go and forgive. Aks me, it is worth it!
