Make yourself available for the call from the Lord!
Matthew 9:37-38
He said to His disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So, pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask Him to send more workers into His fields.”
We are all different, with unique gifts and talents that God has blessed us with, in order to be blessings to each other. Ones that we need to us, as alluded to in the parable of talents found in the book of Matthew 25:14-20. However, the greatest commission we have been assigned by Jesus, is found in the book of Matthew 28:19-20 that says: "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Basically, Jesus commissioned us to make more disciples, to grow God's kingdom and to ensure that more people are saved. To tell them the good news, so that they never have to experience death the second time, but can find life in eternity, as we have. Basically, opening our hearts to allow more people to have their eyes opened, have them set free from the bondages of hell and find the true and unconditional love of Christ. What I like, in this verse, Jesus reassures us that we are not alone, we won't have to do this in our strength but the Holy Spirit who lives in us, will help us. We just need to make ourselves available for His will.
This is why in the verse for today, Jesus says the harvest is great, meaning there are many souls we need to bring to Christ, more people that still need to be saved; yet there are few people willing to do so. He has a solution for us that we must pray to the Lord that He will send more people to help us. Therefore, I'm making a plea with you today, to make yourself available as well, to share the good news that Jesus was born especially for us, to come and die for our sins, so we may be forgiven and live. Not everyone knows or understand this or the importance thereof, hence, let us open their eyes, whilst there's still time (as we don't know the time or day the Lord will call us back). I pray the Lord send His Holy Spirit upon you and overtake you and fill you with His power to do His will. He will guide you, He will teach you and He will be with you. Be blessed.
