Plow up the hard ground of your heart...

 Hosea 10:12

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the LORD, that He may come and shower righteousness upon you.’

God is instructing us on how to reap a harvest of love. By ploughing out the hard ground of our hearts, by seeking the Lord and allowing Him to have His way in our hearts and in our lives. This means we seek the Lord in prayer, asking Him to reveal and remove anything that is not of Him, such as seeds of hatred, bitterness, anger, resentment, jealousy to name a few. These cannot be associated with reaping a harvest of love; hence we need to get rid of them as soon as possible, so that our hearts may be pure and filled with good things and most importantly the love of God. We need our hearts to be filled and overflow with love, so that what comes out of it, is love. Afterall, God is love (1 John 4:8) and if He is our Father, we need to follow on His footsteps.

May this encourage you to examine your heart and call on the Lord to search your heart and remove anything that is not of Him (Psalm 139:23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.). The Lord is always ready and waiting to help. Allow Him to have His way with you.
