Remember how powerful God is, as you face the new year...

 Genesis 1:1

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

As we begin a new year, may we remember that we are not alone, but that we have a Father that is sovereign, everlasting and powerful. He is the Creator of the heavens and earth and that should give us an idea of how powerful He is. This should be comfort to us, as we enter into this new chapter, that no matter what, God is still on His throne, and He is in control. Him being in control give us comfort because even if we may find ourselves in trouble, He'll be there to pull us out; also, that if we may find ourselves in situations that are dire, we need not have to lose hope because He is never changing, He is the same yesterday, today and forever more. Therefore, we are equipped to face anything that we may encounter this year.

May this give you the boldness that the Lord wishes you to have (Proverbs 28:1) so that you may face life head-on. To dream big dreams because you know you have a Big God. To dare to go after your dreams because you have nothing to fear, for your Father will catch you when you fall. In fact, He has already put in you the spirit of power, love and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Thus, you go after that which God has placed in your heart. Embrace this new year, see it with a new perspective that it is filled with new opportunities that you need to grab hold of. Don't fear failure but realize that sometimes you may have to get some lessons along the way, which will propel you even further. Look forward to what God has in store for you and forget the former things (Isaiah 43:18-19).

By knowing Christ, we get a chance of living a life that is pleasing to the Lord.

 2 Peter 1:3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a Godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the one who called us to Himself by means of His marvelous glory and excellence. By coming to know Christ, learning about Him in the word, we now have the ability to live a Godly life. This means by God's divine power, He has equipped us with the relevant information and teachings, on how we are to live our lives. The bible tells us that Jesus was sent to be our role model, our example of the things the Lord expects to see in us and to see in our daily walk here on earth. These things allow us to live a life that is acceptable in His eyes. Let us tell of the wonderful things He has done!

 Psalm 9:1 I will praise you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all the marvelous things You have done. And that is called a testimony, telling of the wonderful  things that the Lord has done! With God on our side, we have  an advantage, where we are protected from certain things, where God ochestrates things for us so that they work in our favour (Romans 8:28). He heals us, He provides for us, He opens and closes doors and so much more. Which is why the only two things that we can do to show gratitude for all that He does for us, is first to recognize His role in the whole thing . That in our own strength, we wouldn't have been able to achieve those thigs, gotten favoured or have that opportunity come through.
