Forgive those who offend and afflict you...

 Colossians 3:13

Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others.

God wants us to forgive those who wrong us, simply because He too, forgave all our sins. God knew that we wouldn't be able to keep up with sinning and slaughtering animals as a sacrifice to ask for forgiveness. Which is why He sent His one and only beloved Son to die for our sins, so that our relationship with Him (after it was messed up in the garden of Eden) can be fixed. He did this because He love us, and He wants to have a relationship with Him. Our lives were designed for us to have a close relationship with Him. Therefore, like Father like Son, hence, we are required to forgive others, no matter how hard it may be. Furthermore, He doesn't ask of us to forget (which is not easy), but He wants us to release the matter from our hearts, so that it doesn't lead to us harboring bitterness and anger, which are not pleasing in the kingdom of God.

So, my plea to you is to consider forgiving those that wrong you, remembering that you are not doing it for them, but you are doing it for you, and also because God said so. Let us be obedient and do as the Lord says. Should you find it difficult to, take it to the Lord, who is more than willing to assist you. Free you...
