Now that our sins are washed away, we can walk tall & boldly...
John 1:29
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
I think the emphasis on this verse, is The Lamb who takes away our sins. Indeed, through Jesus, our sins have been washed away and we have been made righteous with God through Jesus. It is a big deal, as this means we don't have to live with a guilty conscious, of what we've done (that we are not proud of), but we can live life in full! Furthermore, the bible tells us in Hebrews 4:16 "So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most." This means, we have access to God's mercy and His grace to help us, as He has indeed forgiven us and we are now a new creation. Boldness is in our DNA.
Obviously, the devil will try to tone you done, to make you hang your head in shame, of which this is all wrong and we must safeguard to ensure that we don't fall for this trap. He may come and remind you of all the bad things you did when you were also of the world; however, God says in Isaiah 43:18-19 that we must forget the former things, things of the past and see the new thing that He is creating in our lives. This shows us that the Lord does not want us to pay attention and dwell on the past, it is what it is but what we have the power over, is the future, there's something we can do about and in fact, God is already doing something about it! Therefore, focus on Him, and forget the failures, the disappointments, hurt, regrets etc. There's more ahead than behind you...
