Serve one another!
John 13:14-15
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
This message was shared by Jesus right after He had washed His disciple's feet, closer to His crucifixion. His disciples were puzzled why would Jesus, their Master and Teacher wash their feet; a task that was reserved for servants. But this was symbolic of serving one another. Even a person of His stature (Jesus), He took the time to clean their feet, to serve them. He did this because He loved them and most importantly, He was teaching them that they must serve one another.
The command that we are given, is that we should love God with all our heart, mind and soul; but secondly to love our neighbor as we love ourselves (Luke 10:27). This emphasizes that we should love one another, be kind to one another and serve one another. Regardless of the position you hold, serve!
May this be a revelation to us, that what God expects of us is to serve one another. If Jesus was willing to wash people's feet, difficult as it may be, He did it. Let this inspire you to do something good for another person (without expecting to be paid for it). Do it to make their lives easier, to bring a smile to their face or to give them hope. People are going through a lot, hence an act of kindness can change their situation, perspective or just make their day. You shall be blessed!
