Commit your plans to God!

 Proverbs 16:3

Commit your actions to the LORD, and your plans will succeed.

This is one of the basic principles, that in whatever we do, may it be aligned with God's will and plans for our lives, so that our plans may succeed. At times we may have plans for our lives, which may be mis-aligned with God's plans; as always, God's will will prevail. This may leave us with disappointed, bitter, with lack of cooperation from our side in God's plans. Hence, we are urged to bring the plans we have in our hearts to God, present to Him and ask Him to bless them, IF it's in His will. This is important that we give His priority. In this case, should our plans not be aligned with His, and He takes us in an opposite direction, though we would be disappointed, we will cooperate and still trust that He knows what's best (Jeremiah 29:11) and that He is still in control. This will put us at ease, knowing that whatever happens, we win (Romans 8:28)!

Let this be a reminder, to take our desires and plans to Him and ask Him to bless our actions. Let us ask Him to continue guiding our footsteps in the right direction. That only His will be done in our lives, and not ours. I'm certain this will bring peace in whatever plans we pursue.

I'm reminded of the story of Hannah in the book of 1 Samuel, the lady who never had a child and was being mocked by the other wife. This led to her praying to God, saying that if God can gives her a child, she will dedicate him to God. That's when the miracle happened! In this case, in as much as it was in her plans to have a child, she brought God into the picture, to indicate how can God benefit out of the situation, should God allow it. Indeed, the prophet of Israel was born, Samuel who was raised in the temple and had a close relationship with God. So, the lesson here is to not only consider what you stand to benefit our of your request, but also sacrifice something to God, for His glory.
